Conference Letter

Here is Elder Johnson's latest letter (re-typed by Ashley as closely as possible to the way he wrote it) Hey Fam! WOW! Conference was amazing! I have never watched it without you guys before! It was weird. I thought of you the whole time. In a happy way :) One of my favorites was the prophets during priesthood session! I saw conference really different this year. They weren't just speakers, they are inspired/called men of God. What they say is Solid truth, and God wants them to say it. I counted talks I felt were for me specifically. 6. It was Awesome! Oh we had a double baptism Sunday morning! So Cool! We found both of them in the street, they look so happy in the picture we took. I look like it's Christmas morning and I just got a puppy! I'm really happy for them. 2 cool things happened this week. #1 We were in our "chill" time (2 hours to eat) and this random lady calls us. Well, we went and visited her and it turns out some other elders put the card with our number on her door over 3 months ago! She is amazing and we already have talked about baptism with her. So that was awesome. #2 our family of 7 we have been teaching, I don't know if I have said much about them. They have a 5 year old boy and an 8 year old boy a 10 year old boy,and 16 and 17 year old girls. The 17 year old is their niece adopted, much like Alyssa. The kids are so awesome! The parents are very hard headed. They just won't find out for themselves. (my spanish is doing bad things to my english) Anyways, During the Sunday afternoon session I had a very distinct impression to show the "Restoration" video to them "Tonight"! So we went over at 8 pm and stayed till 9:20 (long time) we found that the ten-year-old was having a b-day party! Anywho, we ended up talking to two of the parent's sisters! They were way cool! We sat on opposite sides of the room and each taught one! How or why it worked out that way is beyond me! The one I taught told me I had a "glow" about me and I told her it was because I kept the commandments. (weird answer for only knowing her 1.2 min.) We talked about everything from fornication to the plan of salvation to a temple marriage! So much was said but I want to share what popped into my mind, one time. I told her that strongest geometrical shape was the triangle and explained how marriage should work. I told her about my parents and how they have the same goal - Heaven and Eternal life, and how its not easy but god keeps them together. It just clicked with her. It was good. Thanks for being the best parents, something I wrote down yesterday during conference is: Strength isn't self learned, I am strong and have learned through obedience to my parents. This was during Vicki F. Matsumorri's talk about the 2000 warriors. Minda and Aust - respect your parents they unfortunately do know whats best. If we listen to them they will ready us for whats ahead. Its their job. Love you all. Thanks for all your love and support. Work hard. Read your scripts. Elder Johnson
